Easy Capture is a free, but discontinued screen capture tool which can save its captured images as BMP, JPG, GIF, PNG or as TIFF images.
With the cabling correctly plugged, VLC (available from the Software Centre) can be used to capture sound and image. You must access the menu Media Open Capture Device and set the EasyCap device (e.g. /dev/video0) for recording (it can also be set for streaming). Once a screen capture has been created, you can use the EasyCapture's editing functions to flip, rotate or resize the images. You may also apply hue, saturation, brightness and contrast modifications to the image or even apply filters like noise, emboss, posterize and more.
EasyCapture includes hotkey shortcuts and when not in use, sits quietly in the system tray.

Hi — I have Windows 10 and a black dongle labeled EasyCap. I broke the disc. Thank you in advance! Hi ddbug, I installed it and PC does not recognize the peripheral device. Have you found drivers that work with Windows 10 bit? It’s not the drivers I finally figured it out. The usb cable that attaches to it and then you plug the other end to the computer.

Between each driver install restart your computer and try controlker. Vista should work fine. Any ideas where to get that for the vhs to dvd application. I have also downloaded and installed Expression Encoder 4, but I could do with some help. It’s not the drivers I finally figured it out.
